The Leadbreaker Family
A dwarven family who lived in the region for several generations. Current owners of the salt mine of Salzburg. They acquired the mines by popular vote after the previous owners (the Kerban family) turned out to be demon-worshipping cannibals.
The family is known to live a lavish lifestyle, spending their wealth on throwing fancy parties, food and drinks and other earthly pleasures. As a result, they are in a tighter financial situations than most people assume. Thus, the recent developments around their source of income has left them at the edge of bankruptcy.
- ... Leadbreaker: Head of the family.
- Jurgen Leadbreaker: Currently in charge of the mining operations. Seems to be somewhat of an alcoholic.
- Darviel: The accountant of the Leadbreakers. Shared confident info with the PCs about the financial troubles of his employers.
The Kerban Family
Originally a merchant family from Chult, they acquired the mine at Salzburg by baronial decree after moving to the region. Over time, rumors spread that they're involved with demon worship and cannibalism.
Then a local girl by the name of Dia Tolbana went missing from Salzburg, which led to a house search being conducted agains the Kerban family. The search revealed an sacrificial altar in the basement of the Kerban Estate. What's more, the missing girl was also found there.
As a result of the ensuing investigation, the Kerban family was tried and executed. After this, the Leadbreakers got ownership of the mine, by popular vote from the people of Salzburg.
The Eaglefalls
As clerics of Tyr (God of Justice), they are the de-facto heads of the judicial system of the Barony of Holywood.
- Edvuth Eaglefall: Was the judge at the time when the Kerban family was tried and executed for cannibalism.
- Rena Eaglefall: Grand-daughter of Edvuth, she has been tasked with investigating the recent disappearances at Salzburg.
